White Bird of Paradise - 6"

Strelitzia nicolai is one of our absolute favorite plants in our collection. Native to South Africa, this stunning and regal plant produces gorgeous flowers under the right conditions, although rarely flowering indoors, needing 3-5 years to mature before flowering. They can grow up to 6 feet tall indoors with leaves nearing 2-3 feet in length. 

Care: This absolute baddie needs bright, direct sunlight, although too much direct sunlight in the summer can scorch the leaves of younger plants, so be careful. Use a well-draining potting mix that you allow to dry out between waterings. The most common mistake we see with the bird of paradise is overwatering. Overwatering doesn't necessarily refer to the amount of water used, but the frequency of watering, so let those roots breathe a little!
