Mexican Fence Post - 4"
Mexican Fence Post - 4"
Pachycereus marginatus, Lophocereus marginatus, Cereus marginatus, or whatever you want to call it is probably our favorite standard cactus. It was one of our first purchases when we first started getting into cacti and succulents, and we've only grown to love it even more over the years. Starting off small and given enough care, this bad boy will grow to a whopping 10-15 feet tall and can live up to 100 years! They can even bloom in the spring under the right conditions.
Care: Sandy, well-draining cactus mix is what you want to go with here. Keep the soil moisture to a minimum, as the Mexican Fence Post cactus is a pro at holding water in its trunk. During the heat of the summer, water every 3-4 weeks. During the winter, less than once per month is fine.
