Alocasia African Mask - 4"
Alocasia x amazonica or the African Mask Alocasia is a unique houseplant known for its distinct appearance.
One unique aspect of this plant is that it is not found in the wild. Rather, it is a hybrid created from Alocasia sanderiana and Alocasia longiloba, bred for ornamental purposes. It reaches 12-24 inches in height and width, with leaves growing up to 24 inches themselves, which makes it perfect as a striking, yet compact decorative houseplant.
Care: The Alocasia African Mask thrives in bright, indirect light. It requires well-draining, thoroughly aerated soil; aroid potting mixes work great for these plants. They prefer soil that is consistently moist, but do not waterlog the roots, or you will run the risk of root rot. The best way to determine if you need to water is to stick your finger in the top of the soil. If the top 1-2 inches are dry, it's time for a thorough soaking.
